*Shrug*. It sounds a lot like a hybrid between an inlet ramp and a DSI, but I don't know enough about aerodynamics to really explain anything. Everything's just guesses on my part.

Is the J-20 side profile showing the side weapon bay OR landing gear bay?

Because the angle makes the length of the plane look shorter than it is.
They are not sharing the same compartment. In that picture right beside the landing gear is the cover hatch which is hard to see because of its white inner surface. The landing gear compartment is right behind the weapon bay.

Yup... ok thanks.
But wTH is the white color stuff there which blocks part of the landing gear... Loading appartus for the 20mm cannon cannon perhaps?
