Yeah that’s essentially what they’re saying. I don’t think they have very much proof for what they’re (seemingly very confidently) claiming or that they have gotten their arguments sorted out though.
If i understood correctly, they are saying j35/f35 needed to add the hump given that their frontal drag is already excessive with elevated cockpit? And that hump was to minimize the damaged done?
And that the hump is meant to smooth out the gap/kink left over by the rear cockpit section, which align with area rule for transonic drag improvisation??
