Right now it doesn't work. The PLAAF seem to be still evaluating/developing its next gen HMD. We have seen two different helmet designs thus far but combat units such as this one doesn't seem to be equipped with it yet.But the helmets don't have HMD... so how do the cameras work?

A HMD helmet would have the little dots on it that can be tracked by the cameras.

I don't think any of those pictures show them wearing a HMD.
J-20 does have an HMD, but it has those distinctive IR tracking points on it
According to Yankeesama this helmet as is is a bit on the heavy side, which is problematic during extreme maneuvers of around 8 to 9 Gs.
Are J-20 at the 9th brigade all none WS-10C?
