The baseline flanker design has its distinctive arched back elegant lines, the J16 (all twin seaters) further exaggerates that with its raised double cockpit. The J20 is much flatter in side profile, making it somewhat less striking in appearance from these angles, but the two are not that much different size wise.

Does this retractable luneburg lens extend out of the body during J20 training, and shrink into the body during actual combat, so that the enemy will not find it?
I am not a Star Wars fan but still feel this "Stormtrooper"-ish looking.

As long as the pilot does not knock his head against the canopy, it's ok.
