My personal guess is that this sketch only implies that the WS-15 engine has entered the testing phase on the J-20.
I think it should be at the Cangzhou flying training base, J20 and J16 start a new year of training.
2 vs 2 aerial combat exercise between a pair of J-16s and a pair of J-20s. EW heavily utilizers during BVR phase.
Two J-20s piloted by Golden Helmet pilots and unspecified superior number of a different aircraft (J-16?) went head to head in aerial combat exercise. Despite being outnumbered, the J-20s prevailed in the confrontation. At one point two opposing aircraft literally locked on each other in a head on "game of chicken" and launched simulated missiles, but both were able to shake the missile lock.
Nice peep into the s-duct!
Lens compression and perspective can make the back ground object look a whole lot bigger. But it can never make the back ground object look any bigger than the foreground object unless it actually is bigger than the foreground object.
