Is that 20 J-20s produced every 6 months?
yea. number increases in fold every year in relative to 1st year production rate, after let say 5 years, further upgrades (ws15?) before going into mass production of upgraded j20.
Looks like they will bulk up the fifth generation fleet first instead of waiting on WS-15.
I think it's a wise move. Many things can happen between now and then. At least they have quite a few more J-20 should things turn hot.
They should aim for more by the end of 2027 just to be on the safe side.
Will it be possible to retrofit the "old" J-20s with the newer WS-15 engines?
I don’t think so. They will require changes to the intakes.
