The correct inference should be:When Xi said “let’s accelerate”, then it means WS15 is not ready. Otherwise he should be saying “let’s celebrate”
Not really. They have nothing to do with each other. Regardless of whether or not WS-15 is ready, Chinese military development still needs to accelerate; there is always more to be done. In the midst of this heated competition with the US, there is simply no time to celebrate. The Chinese military must bury its head in its work for so long it has loses track of time and everything else, and when it finally looks up, it is to realize that it has become peerless in the world.

China is not tolerant to that kind of risk. Pretty much nobody is. J-20 is the only stealth fighter in service in the world that has never crashed and it's not because China likes to take crazy risks.

We will generally see the engine mounted as 1 of 4 on something like the Y-20/IL-76. Then as one of 2 on a J-11 if it can accept it. If not, then 1 of 2 on a primer J-20. After that, if all goes well, we will see it double-mounted onto single seat primer J-20s before coming into service. And there should be very significant periods of time between each step obviously for the testing, data collection, and engineering improvements.
If the rumor is true they already flying 1 engine with primer J-20.

From Henri K blog in interview one of the pilot said they experiment with loyal wingman concept
East pendulum @HenriKenhmann · 9h In an interview with 4 pilots of J-20, broadcast yesterday on CCTV-7, we learn that: - Some PLAAF units are studying and testing the collaboration between piloted devices and drones. - They talk about 1 aircraft (J-20?) Leading 4 drones.

From now on only domestic engines will be used on J 20

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force celebrated its 72nd anniversary on November 11, 2021. At the Airshow China 2021 in Zhuhai, the PLA Air Force announced that the country’s most advanced stealth fighter, the J-20, will stop using Russian engines in favour of an upgraded home-grown engine. Pictures and videos also revealed a variant of the J-20 Weilong, which means Mighty Dragon, with an elongated canopy capable of seating two pilots.
