J-20 5th Gen Fighter Thread VIII

Sorry to break the conversation, but I have this thought in my head.
So, I've seen some people make ignorant jokes about how J-20 Chengdu's engine always break down mid-flight. I've tried searching about it, only to find articles about how J-20s are receiving WS-15 engines, with seemingly no reports of this supposed issue. Is the engine breaking down thing a hoax or something???
This has never happened to a J-20 before. This includes from all trustworthy-semi-trustworthy sources. There are fringe conspiracy sites that make up stories about Chinese submarines sinking or taking pictures of a fire control exercise claiming that a PLAN ship burned down. I don't know what kind of things they make up about J-20; probably that it's made from recycled cereal boxes or something.

There is almost a perfect overlap between people who believe in these conspiracies about Chinese self-destruction/failure, and followers of Peter Zeihan/Gordon Chang/SerpentZA. Basically all socioeconomic failure incels.

Does that mean that if we crowd source enough money to get them laid we can reduce the amount of silly propaganda online?

Depends how you define incel. Is that just somebody who can't get laid? Or does it also include people who are only getting laid by directly paying for it? I think it's the latter so paying for them to get laid won't change their outlook/need for copium.

Alongside the majestic photo above is this mention by Cute Orca on Weibo:
曾几何时,我们拥有如此强大的国防工业
先进战机创纪录交付之年
It didn't take long that (now) we had such a strong defense industry
A year of record-setting/record-breaking deliveries of advanced warplanes/fighters

What is the record breaking number? classified?

Numbers are reported to be between 60-100 depending the source you are reading, but my point still is, where are they all?
The last confirmed J-20 unit was the 8th Brigade in October 2022 and similar for J-10C production, we heard lots of rumours, it would have been transferred to GAIC but so far nothing conclusive.

PLA OPSEC at its best again?!

Well, gotta overmatch the number of F-22s and F-35s in USAF, USN, JMSDF, JASDF, RKAF. And why shouldn't China aim for that for long term goal before 6th gen production? It has several times the population, almost the same landmass and arguably better energy and raw resource access along with greater strategic stockpiles of said resources (shock - Peter Zeihan is actually wrong about China on energy**).

**China has direct secure and friendly land routes to Russia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq. China has a capable navy to secure sea routes. Blocking access is basically declaration of war. China has one of the world's largest deposits of coal and by FAR the largest stockpile of iron ore (that's not in the ground) and processed material. It also has more nuclear power projects in construction than rest of world is constructing combined. It has in operation more renewable energy sources than most and has over 50 nuclear reactors in close to 20 power stations.

It's only a question of whether it is a suitable use of resources to mass produce J-20s at this rate. Clearly whatever the rate is, is what ought to be based on calculations done by those with far more information than we do.

The guy is physically in Chengdu and he is corroborated by other guys living there so this should be very legit.

WRT this, it should be noted that Cute Orca mentioned "交付", meaning "delivered".

The number of J-20s delivered (i.e. handed over to the PLAAF) may need to be/should be taken differently than the number of J-20s produced (i.e. rolled off the production lines at Chengdu).

Though, Cute Orca didn't mention any number in his post, nor replied to any comments underneath his post. Though, some in the comment section are implying that "100 or more J-20s delivered" is the case.
