So more volume/bigger diameter. Maybe a mixed payload would give 6 missiles. You close range very fast anyway. One of the reasons why PL-15 has a longer reach is because it has more room for propellant.

Raptor definitely uses AIM-120D. It's publicly announced.Unlike the raptor, which uses AIM-120C, the fin-size is not the limiting factor for the PL-15. The diameter of the missile is more of an issue. To make the missile more compact they’d need to slim it down a bit.

I think 120D was integrated later. My point is that C7 had larger fins that required folding.
The F-22 has never used an AMRAAM variant with folding wings.
In fact, I do not believe there is any air launched AMRAAM variant with folding wings.
I must have misremembered. Now that I think about it it is probably staggered.
This specific one is rumored to be Series No. 61263 with a CB number of CB0X234.This J-20 assigned to a "brigade of the Southern Air Force" seems to be serial no. 6126x (x = maybe 2 or 3)... so at least besides the known numbers 61160, 61165 & 61168, this is a new one from the rarely seen 5th Air Brigade at Guilin and also the one with the highest number.

Why the "X" though? This specific one is rumored to be Series No. 61263 with a CB number of CB0X234.
However the CB number doesn't make sense to me so take it with a grain of salt.
