J-20 5th Gen Fighter Thread VIII

Let's hear it from @latenlazy
Based on the J-20 in the image the lighting should be pretty harsh. The alleged GJ-11 is positioned at an oblique bank angle that to my eyes should be exposing it more to the direction of the lighting relative to the J-20, and yet its entire bottom side is one shade, despite the fact that the GJ-11’s belly is not flat and has some curvature. So yeah this looks fake as heck to me.

Just saw this on FB  … is it a real image?

Allegedly showing a J-20 together with a GJ-11 and if indeed legit it would be the first image of a real GJ-11.

Not to confirm outright it's a genuine photograph, but I see nothing wrong with it.

The dark shadows have the same degree of greyness. Both aircraft have the same amount of blurriness overall and at the edges (due to their far distance). The lag of light reflections from the bottom of the GJ-11 (totally dark bottom) could be due to its pitch angle to sunlight.

The picture could still be photoshopped but the faker would have to make the extra efforts to make sure the above features are seemingly in line. Most fakers do not have the patience to bother with the details.

Judging by the orientation of the body relative to the direction of the light I would expect there to be more exposure from the pitch angle, and also some illumination of the curvature of the underbody.

It isn't easy to judge the exact angle.

Bear in mind the GJ-11 has a relatively flat bottom with its central fuselage protruding just slightly below and its wings having a large area of "flatness" at the bottom

What I find fascinating is that this photo has been posted and declared fake before on this very forum but about a year later we’ve forgotten all about it and are once again debating about its authenticity.

Indeed and regret to have posted it without realising how old it actually is ... here is the original one: I saved it on 20 April 2021 as "J-20A allegedly spotted at Anshan.jpg" and per my list it was one of the first clearer hints of Anshan's 1st AB getting J-20s.

I suspected that the J-20 pic was something we’ve seen before but didn’t mention it because I didn’t have time to dig through the now very long stack of photo archives.
