I think you are right. It's just so strange to see because I've never noticed it before on photos taken at a similar angle. :cool:
The line between the nose and intake is usually clearer, but however that photo was edited erased the visual boundary between the two,

the nose looks like if it wasn't of a conical shape while it is LOL

Actually the nose is not "conical", that chine starts at the tip on the port and starboard side, thanks to the forward fuselage chine the J-20 has lots of forward fuselage lift, bleeding into a true "lifting body" shape, much like the F-35.... this contributes greatly to resisting "mach tuck" as the J-20 blows through mach 1.....

Actually I don't know but the background looks similar to this one which was taken at Cangzhou.

... or is it more the scene than the base???
I thought maybe Cangzhou too because it’s a relatively flat place, but the dirt around the runways makes me wonder because I would normally expect grass. Then again, if it was in the desert you’d probably be able to see some mountains in the distance.
