Hell no. Against those two belligerents especially, the Luneburg lens is critical to prevent SIGINT and ELINT leaks.

Drawing a circle here, Hiroshima's reachable within 1350 km. Southernmost tip of Taiwan is 1100 km, as is most of Kyushi. Distance to the coast is 200 km. Also puts all of South Korea within coverage. Might be amusing to see some J-20s attempt to crash a US training exercise once in a while.

View attachment 50703 So far I have never noticed that the fixed front part of the J-20's vertical stabilizer is latticed or meshed! At least for the 201x prototypes.

Googled again for photos, actually 2011?, 2017 and 2101 all have this feature.
