Exactly. Truth is the truth and repeating a lie many times just becomes dogma. It does not become truth. Media around the world went nuts about F-35 and claimed it to be everything from a flying lemon to the greatest piece of military hardware. There's a lot of political motivation behind articles regarding China's military and for good reason if you are threatened by its progress. It definitely sells and because I doubt insiders with actual knowledge will divulge such sensitive info without consequence, I feel like some of that stuff is either made up or deliberate misinfo. Could be a double bluff to get US intelligence confused. Maybe J-20 is a flying piece of plywood and the latest railgun is totally fake and it's all deception. Or somewhere in between. I mean you can't exactly hide the many successful ballistic missile defense interceptions, the hypersonic vehicles, or the anti-satellite tests. Bluffing those means the watchers will know you're full of shit. So you have to throw them a curve ball once in a while and hide it well. Reminds me of Cold War Soviet attempts to fool western intelligence with their sophisticated practice of "maskirovka".
The websites need to sell ads. You can't ever stop them as long as they have their own readership. I guess we have to tolerate them, just as other patriotic/nationalistic media out there.
SCMP is one of the "曲线救国" type of media. The other one is sixtone. These guys are trying to appear as anti-China for the time being. Sometimes the Chinese state owned news outlets need to write on some sensitive topic, but they can't quote Chinese/internal sources, so they will quote these type of media as "reported by the Western media", all part of an overall eco system. You can't be serving the same role and appear pro-China all the time.

Yes this article is medium even " limited " it is for mainly agility* and as it is a stealth more oriented to BVR combat it is not a big weakness, so the J-20 is ofc interesting and completely make snese Chinese AF have the first now in a front line unit surely severals a flight ofc hidden LOL
But one want for price 3 J-10 ! or surely 2 J-16. and it is amatter of size fleet/units number the mass remains important why legacy J-7, Q-5 are always in service.

So far all of these latest images - also those taken at Wuhu are clearly from the well-known and so far only confirmed unit with 78x7x.
Will the J-20 supercruise with the AL-31FN?? and IMHO thats a big if?? it will consume lots of fuel, now will it supercruise with WS-10?? depends on the thrust??? also NOT confirmed independently?? so in my opinion, Super cruise will not put up any meaningful numbers until WS-15,, the J-20 looks like it will have ample fuel capacity, and speed will increase as fuel is consumed and weight drops
Now I'm rather certain that when WS-15 comes aboard, it will likely Super Cruise, how fast?? 1.3 to 1.5?? nobody really knows...
one of the best things about the F-35's being close by,,, whatever comes out to scramble will get a fine tooth going over, LOL
so no doubt we will know a lot more about the SU-35 shortly,,, maybe even the J-20
I have not posted in a while, but it seems like a lot of 4th gen cannot pick up J-20 until it gets really close. If this is the case then fighting between 2 5th gen will be very interesting, both jet won't be able to detect each other until both gets close. If this the case then within visual combat will be the key, whoever can lock on the enemy fastest with short range AAM will have the best advantage.
Maybe this is why China is inventing a missile that can shoot backwards, because you never know which direction the enemy will be detected
