Indeed it is, when I enlarged your picture, it looked like something out of the "Star Wars" theme, eh???

I think maybe the Eng has convinced several of us,,, and I surprisingly love the Air Bus concept aircraft,, I can't wait to see the Titanium and Carbon fibre take shape on a "proof of concept" aircraft! LOL

until that happens?? this is eye candy

I think the aft mounted delta does offer the possibility of a larger airframe, with more capacity, but if you want super maneuver-abilitiy?? (no longer the primary driving factor in air-combat),, I'm rather certain you will need to augment pitch control with the distant coupled canards

Actually I posted that picture thinking it might be a fan art. The detail level is incredible but the volume appears wrong that the air inlet should be further compressed.

It can be if the situation really calls for it, but the EOTS-like sensor can probably function like FLIR during air-to-air operations.

Go for it if you want, but remember you will also need to compensate for distortion with the J-20 too.

First of all, the picture of the J-20 has been cropped, with the aircraft being originally at the center of the picture.

i.e. the J-20 is at the center of the field of view of the picture and the J-16 at the edge of the field of view.

This means that the J-20 will appear slightly bigger than the J-16 due the camera being closer to the J-20 and farther from the J-16. The J-16 is also at an angle to the field of view (which explains why the vertical stabilizers appear to be longer than the tail boom) which further makes the J-16 smaller than it would otherwise appear to be.

And then there is the question of the different amount of lens distortion between the center and the edge of the lens.

I thought so too, but it’s hard to compensate for those things. Until we get another image this is the best we got ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
