Excellent... The canopy coating looks different (assuming the color capture is accurate). Also, the 'gap' on the side weapon bay doors from '2016' is gone. The bay doors now fit flush with the body.

Do they really need Su35s?

They brought the flower ladies out, that and the heavy security means some big shots are there for this, so looks like this is a very big deal.

I'm guessing 2017 is the first LRIP bird.

Yep, the coating on the canopy definitely looks different.

Is it just my eyes, or have they changed the canopy shape a little?

It's hump now seems more pronounced and the gradient of the incline also seems steeper.
