Well, if he's ignored the 400+ operational WS-10X, why would building more shut him up? If he ignores facts, then why would WS-15 shut him up? There's gonna be people like him forever; they will cite 2009 engine troubles for why China's engines in 2025 aren't up to standards. China won't waste a dime or an engineer's eye-blink to try to shut people like him up. China will continue to do only what it sees as most beneficial to its own development, and if that means using more AL-31X in the mean time to focus all resources (that could have been spent on integrating WS-10X into J-20) on WS-15 development instead, then I stick fully by that decision.
Why do you care or be bothered by that guy that much? If you believe he is bullshitting non-sense (which I believe too), just ignore him.
Why would it shut him up??? If he ignores 200 J-10B with WS-10X, why would he not ignore J-20 with Chinese engine? He would pretend it doesn't exist and post pictures of prototype J-20 and say that's proof China still uses foreign engines. Nothing will shut him up. He woke up in the morning needing to earn money and the best way he knows how is the write a China-bashing article with a click-bait title. Nothing, no truth or untruth can stop him. You are not logical because you are trying to use facts to shut down someone who (you admit) ignores facts. You're driving yourself crazy trying to use good logic to debate crazy people.
People spreading fallacies should be taken down but that is a childish sentiment in the real world. In the real world, people can build entire careers having never written anything that passes expert scrutiny; none of it may have anything to do with China so don't take this personally. He's real mainstream and while we're on a forum. So what? What are you trying to say? That that has any impact on the truth? Gordon Chang is real mainstream and writes absolute rubbish every day despite the fact that any person (or economist) with any self-respect would have packed up and quit after having written a book calling for the collapse of a country that keeps growing at 7% annually almost a decade after his prediction. But did he? Hell no; he wrote another one saying this time, he's sure that by 2012, it's totally gonna happen; "Bet on it." Any public that wants to hear the truth instead of what sounds pleasant would laugh him out of the room every time he opened his mouth after that. But we don't live in that world. We live in a world where 95% of people willingly pay to hear what they want to hear (and Chang knows that cus at this point, he's been wrong so often that he probably has a hard time keeping a straight face while writing). This Indian guy is a toenail compared to Chang when it comes to bullshit. So deal with it and quit whining about wasting billions of dollars of national resources to shut one nobody up. Somebody tells lies about you and you self-inflict harm to prove him wrong? Hilarious strategy... for the other guy only.

Well, I think you're giving him wayyy to much credit on how much he knows about engines (when WS-15 will be ready) or whether he has the common sense to not post BS to fool people. But I see your hypothesis is opposite.
