Really nice stuff. Deserves a separate thread. Mods, why not have a sticky thread for research work like by78 posts in each section? (Air, Sea, Land, Strategic)
Right, as with a F-15SE you can get an low observable fighters with it not a stealth so big RCS.The Hornet has a much more ideal profile, in terms of RCS, than the J-10 and J-11. With the Super Hornet Block III, the LO provided by the pod won't be wasted.

Some rumors about the production of the J-20
40 fighter aircraft J-20 unit 202M €?
According to several local sources, Chinese President XI Jin Ping is currently find in Chengdu and it would be showing up at the Institute and 611 Factory 132, where the fighter J-20 is designed and produced.
Some rumors therefore circulate this morning on the quantity and price of the first lot of the order - if all sources seem to converge to say that the initial production of the J-20 is for 40 fighterss, the price announced, however, differs according information.
Indeed, when some speak of between 175 and 202M € for a production aircraft and € 134M for a prototype (at the current exchange rate), others point the dissatisfaction Factory 132 because "now it's almost like a large (J-20) bought a small (J-10B?) is available ... ".
The items we had before then expect rather 108M € for production aircraft.
Anyway, this price both broad and high, between € 108M and € 202M, suggests that short and medium term aircraft hunting more "low-end" that the J-20 as J-10x, 11x and J-J-16, for example, will remain a necessity not only operational, but also financial.
As for the rate of production, the same rumors indicate that the first batch of 40 aircraft should be delivered within 3 years, slightly more than one aircraft per month.
A little over a J-20 a month?
Will this production rate of J-20 is realistic, given that in parallel making J-10B is already running in full capacity, as we have seen in the folder "How many J-10B are produced and deployed? "?
To answer this question, we will look at the production plants and also for ground tests.
What we can see is that the first 132 Factory in Chengdu started since 2013 a series of extension works, certainly to increase its production capacity a little saturated in recent years. A new final assembly hall L-shaped, which covers an area of 47 845m ², seems to have been inaugurated in late 2015. The building full background comes from the Chinese state.
Note that a composite dust extraction system is installed to cover about 78% of the area of the assembly hall.
There are now nine sheds and 3 test places leaving the new final assembly hall, there seems to be sufficient for a gradual increase in tempo on the next 3 years - if there is one airplane out a month and each plane remaining six months on site for factory testing.
It is therefore quite plausible that the 40 aircraft J-20 can be manufactured in 3 years, provided that the entire supply chain is well managed and all the players follow the same rhythm, particularly for components that do not depend not necessarily Chinese manufacturers ...
Right, as with a F-15SE you can get an low observable fighters with it not a stealth so big RCS.
But Super Hornet get an clealy better RCS than a F-15 or even a F-18, 0.75 ; 3 and 10/15 m2.
J-11 as Su-27 10/15 m2, J-10 i don' t have 1 or 2 m2 ?
Can anyone confirm ? ... at the CDF someone posted:
Ohhhhhh ... come on, show us some nice shots similar to the ones during the Y-20's service introduction !! :brow:
Always wondered, Deino, what is this CDF you were always referring to?
not sure about the number, but the cost is not going to be that high. Can make sense after 20 yet for know... and in more it is expensive seems much or less J-10 ?
From Henri K
So about 2 years of production for equip a Rgt presumably no too big about 20 fighters maximum.
First 2018/19 ? saying operationnal for 2019 without problems..
