Do we know what AL-31 variant is used on the J-20?

Honestly I think we don't know for sure what version, but IMO the most likely option is a maybe uprated version of the latest AL-31FN series 3.

Rumours from some certain circles of WS-10-fan boys YES for sure ... but IMO all more or less unsubstantial.

To admit IMO we have too few images of the recent ones to compare them properly ... anyway I'm convinced that they are AL-31FNs of some sort.

Possible, even very likely that she is back for some tweaking as the testing unfolds, perhaps to her FCS to open up her flight envelope, just a the F-35 has been receiving similar tweaking to control commands? That's where the smart guys are, and the heavy lifting team in the case that she might need a little structural analysis or re-inforcement?

Tweaking the FCS is a matter of updating the software and doesn't necessitate a return to CAC.
