Well, during the high speed taxi test we did get the front gear off the ground.
I agree with Kwaig, I believe we are only a short time away from that first flight given what we know they have done in the last 10 days.

Over on the Chinese boards some are saying it's going happen Saturday which maybe right now my time.
But seriously even with the 2001 and 2002 all the shots of the J-20 with its landing gear up have been from the ground and most likely with a telephoto lens. Not the most photogenic of positions. I'm waiting for the close on frontal shot angled high (preferably) or low with landing gear up. No one on the ground has been able to get that shot. Like those frontal shots caught while the J-20 comes in for a landing. That's an awesome shot and it would've been better if the landing gear was up.

I'm waiting for those shots too. They're the ones that have given us the most details about the J-20's design.
What I would love to see are some nice Air-to-Air images maybe with a J-10 as a chase plane in the background !!!

Yes, with Deino in the back seat doing "lensman" duties, in a Flanker Family Photo Bird, so he could print those for "Air Combat monthly".

Actually, since they first flighted this bird on ex Sec Def Bob Gates visit, they have already revealed her to the world, good money would say they ought to break tradition and fly Dieno over for a factory tour, back seat on an Air to Air, and a full performance preview, with an interview with a couple of the throttle jockeys. She'd look good on the cover of Air Combat, so what say Chengdu, I'll kick in the first 500 bucks??? brat- for a signed first edition of course.....

Why are you disappointed? Their security is done so thoroughly and expertly it may well be years before any photos of the 2011 in the air, first flown weeks ago, finds their way out of the labrintine state security and through the great firewall?
