I already made it clear that I was coming from the j-20 basher's standpoint and the purpose of my example was to point out the ridiculousness and contradictions in their argument. Read my post carefully.

The DSI speed limit is`nt a matter of bashing the J-20 is a matter of physics, pressure recovery loses always drop thrust yield on the engine, in few words more pressure loses on a duct less thrust, and at high speeds ingesting pressure socks is equivalent to trying to lit a match in a hurricane.

If the engine is lucky it will only get damaged.

That has never been bashing, that is pure fact of physics

Keep on fantasizing. A diverterless inlet can be made to operate at hypersonic range if needed. There is no magic speed limit at Mach 2.0 for diverterless inlet system.
11. A system according to claim 8, wherein the airbreathing propulsion system includes speeds of approximately Mach 2.5 to Mach 10.

I think it's safe to say at this point only 4 will be carried which is dissappointing. I think the designers/engineers could've easily added another one to make it 5 but they decided to stay even at 4.

IMO the quetion was not if five would have been possible, but if 4 or 6 were a reasonable or usefull load. 5 would have meant that the center bulkhead - and as such a different bay design would have been required - has to be deleted.

Anyway I still hope that this is only the load of this AAM and maybe for a type with smaller span or clipped fins 6 could be fitted.

Exactly... I was thinking even during the design phase of the plane where they already knew the dimensions of the missile bay and could've easily fit 5 in there by using a bay that doesn't have the centerline bulkhead like the F-22.
The J-20 is a much bigger airplane than the 22 and for it to carry 30% less missiles is almost unforgiveable.

according to huitong, max. range for PL-12 around 60-70km range, but the AAM seen in internal bay much bigger rocket motor, this gave her 100km plus range.
giving J-20 's AESA radar very long range detection,PLAAF figure out they needed something better than PL-12.particular with much longer range, that correspond with J-20 's AESA radar very long range detection.

Even though they seem narrower, there appears to be a fair bit of depth in the bays. Should be useful for larger A/G loads. F-22 bay is relatively thin.
