Here's a shot of the F-22 bay. Those missiles are pretty tight together. It looks like there's two missiles on one side in the J-20 and could be a gap big enough in between to fit another.

I see only 4 hardpoints. Wonder if that's all it's going to get?

I would say there are only four for this new AAM (PL-15 ??) ... if You look closely in the middle of the left bay it seems as if there's the possibility to add another third pylon if the AAM is smaller (like the PL-12)

I think the finless one might be a dummy missile. You don't think they're PL-12s? They do look a little big, but it's hard to be sure about size?

EDIT: Nevermind, it doesn't look like the PL-12 at all. The fins are completely different.

USAF is developing SRAAM slightly smaller than AIM-9 specially for F-22 and F-35.wonder if PLAAF will opt for similiar path.

If you're talking about lockheed's cuda, it is still a paper plane (or missile) at this stage and the USAF hasn't exactly shown it much interest, and it definitely isn't a project funded by them

Oh, my. Did you hear something about cavity flow fields, aeroacoustic problems, etc, etc?
Always they start with carrying dummy or instrumental missile to understand how CFD predictions compare to real life, otherwize you can get you weapon bay doors flying away or live missile jumping inside the bay to make of you pretty fireball.

Reminds me of the Turkey that shot itself down...

Cheers
