the pneumatic launcher is absent.back in 2006,pneumatic launcher appear on top81.com.also included was picture of test facilities for plasma, and RAM material, while the article do not provide any data other than the picture.

Seeing all this, something tells me that we won't see 2003 for another little while...at least not until another month or 2 until the tests with the 2002 is completely over. It also makes me wonder if Huitong's information is completely accurate. If he is, then maybe we can speculate that 2001 and 2002 is meant for testing certain basic flight characteristics, basic avionics, flight controls, and these basic stuffs like weapons bay. Afterwards the incorporation of maybe prototype 2003 would include some differences, or where real and more advanced stuffs begin. Either way, I look forward to see what else and how long they will use the 2002 before 2003 comes out, and whether Huitong's prophecies ring true.

The missiles in the main bay are fully recessed until release. There is no benefit or need to fly with dummies until they intend to do separation tests.
Oh, my. Did you hear something about cavity flow fields, aeroacoustic problems, etc, etc?
Always they start with carrying dummy or instrumental missile to understand how CFD predictions compare to real life, otherwize you can get you weapon bay doors flying away or live missile jumping inside the bay to make of you pretty fireball.
