Just speculating. The intakes look to be very close to the radome. JH-7B?

I see no intakes in the picture... And what we can see (nose, cockpit, side numbering) seems to be the same as normal J-20s.

I don't think this is anything to fuss over yet, until we see the rear side.

This picture shows various development milestones for jet engines within China. There is a discussion on certain Chinese forum as to which stage WS-15 is at right now.

probably between 5 and 6, unless there is a test plane flying around with a WS-15 that we don't know about yet.

The milestone from 4 to 5 is completion of the technical prototype, and commence ground testing. Which is where I think is done or close been done. Between 5 and 6 is doing the same thing with engineering prototype, 6-7 to flying with test plane, 7 to 8 is design completion and production prototype. And 9 is completion.

So did we slapped ourselves in the mouth when back then we fiercely denied 2001 and 2002 to be demonstrators?
I don't think so? At the core of the argument that 2001 and 2002 were "demonstrators" was the suggestion that this wasn't a design meant to go into production, or that if it was, it wasn't meant to for years and years. Even if 2001 or 2002 are demonstrators, neither of the presumptions that lead to the notion that they were demonstrators have really come to pass.

Are we looking at the same picture?

I see nose cone, cockpit and what looks like intakes or intakes covered with some stuffs but I see no side numbering. :(

What I thought was the side numbering (that white, vaguely printed looking artefact next to the ladder, on the side of the nose) probably isn't on second thought, considering where the numbers were painted on 2001 and 2002.

I feel a little silly overanalysing this picture.
