Good points Engineer.

But you just have to be amazed by the indians and their infeority complext. It is maginificent !

BTW, do you have any more realiable sources to share with ??

Thank you.

I am sorry... but could you not make sweeping comments like what you have mentioned. True, there are some Indian that are not convince of China's capability and advancement, but there are others that are just fine with it. But with statement like - "amaze by the Indians and their infeority complex" or "Indian logic" etc... it is just uncalled for.

Let me remind you, even some of the Chinese just couldn't accept that some of the areas that they have are still lagging behind (I would not mention which areas here though)... so I am sure that you or anyone wouldn't appreciate it if someone make a sweeping statement like, "amaze by the Chinese and their boastful, bullying mentality."

J-20 is like F-15C?
wow coming from Chinese TV is funny

Outside of military enthusiasts, most Chinese people can only tell the difference from fighter jets and commercial airliner... I'm serious. That's because the military is seldom featured in the media and general non-interaction between military forces and civilians, despite western perceptions of a militarized state.

That newsman probably just only F-15C is a American plane and that's it.

Uhmmmm... To be honest the reason this Chinese TV program draw my attention was because a few weeks ago i read a Japanese Magazine, in which they said according to Japanese analysis, J-20 might be in the F-15 class, of course they had some words saying it might be in the class of the F-15 but we could we wrong.

I do not know if it was this magazine tough, but i think it was

To be honest i thought the magazine was very bias and is very unlikely J-20 is in the F-15 class, but it seems the japanese rate it not very high

Meh, who cares about some Japanese magazine opinion on the J-20, there ATD-X program is a joke and just a technology demonstrator at best.

AND this is how a thread gets derailed. This part was totally unnecessary to the discussion here.

DO NOT REPLY TO EQUATION'S ATD-X COMMENT. LET THIS BE AN EXAMPLE OF HOW NOT TO GO OFF TOPIC IN THE FUTURE.

The third prototype could be unveiled second half of 2013. Pupu said that it will be the first prototype in the 'true sense'. Not sure what that means, are we expecting some changes?

I guess he meant that the third prototype will be the one with all parts and inards operational?

P.S. AeroEngineer, I know how you feel. But you'll get used to it in a year or two and then won't be so pissed off any more. :p

Well... I don't know about that. China had very popular magazines like (please forgive my poor translational skills) "tank knowledge", "ships knowledge" and "airplane knowledge". Vast majority of the materials in these magazines is military. You can get these magazines everywhere. Even at the time when I lived in China 20+ years ago, I could find these magazines at virtually every newsstand at every street corner. I subscribed these magazines when I was in elementary school in China. And my buddies and I could identify old (WWI and WWII) and new fighter jets from all over the world by the time we were in 4th/5th grade. So I wouldn't say Chinese as a whole are less educated on military aircraft. That particular reporter might be very ignorant of fighter jet, but it says nothing about the Chinese as a whole. If you want to calculate statistics, the dozens of my old buddies who are still in China would easily cancel out the one ignorant reporter featured in the video...

Maybe the elimination of the pitot tube? that would be one change that can be easily verified if that is the case.
