Do we have any information on what kind of radar J-15 is using?

As per the rumors:

The first batch will have the same radar as the J-11B (Type 1493), while the second batch and beyond will have AESA (the J-15S will also have an AESA).

Basically, the General Arms Department's order to SAC was to drop all other projects and get the J-15 usable as soon as possible. Everything on the J-15 is off-the-shelf, and that's how J-11B's avionics ended up on the J-15.
