Well, here's three pics from my Hasegawa J-15 model in 1/72 scale that I will be building soon.

I intend to build it prepared for take off with winds and horizontal stabilizors extended. It does not have the separate parts for the folded surfaces, but does have good lines there so you could easily cut them out and fold them if desired. It seems like, from that pic that the Trumpeter model will come with that option...which is nice.

Interesting ... but like Totoro noted You need not only the Chinese PL-series AAM but most of all the typical deeper PL-8-wingtip pylons.

Also noteworthy is that Hasegawa most likely got the cockpit decals wrong since they simply reused the Su-33-panel ... whereas the J-15 has (most likely) a full glass-cockpit with several MDF's.

Pleas post us , when Your model is ready for take-off !

No worries...I have numerous decent glass cockpit decals, and if necessary, will even resort to painting something on myself.

I will post a thread here on SD as I build it.

I am sure the Trumpeter model is going to be a better model...but it will be a while before it will be out, and I have the Hasegawa model now. So...to make use of the what you have, and make it work as best you can, is an old adage my father taught me many, many years ago...which he learned from his father, and he his, and so forth.

There were some really nice shots on the carrier. One thing I wish they hadn't done is to mix the sim/land/carrier shots together .. neat video overall though

PS: So those screenshots of the two J-15s in the clouds are CGs after all ..
