The above #121 photo was published on the PLA News. According to the story, the pilot Cao Xian Jian was crashed and seriously injured during a routine training from CV-16 on 2016/04/06. After 419 days and multiple surgeries, he was qualified as the J-15 pilot again on 2017/05/30.
correct: the "routine training" wasn't from CV-16, rather a base around Bohai (Bo Sea), but it appear the plane lost was indeed a J-15.The above #121 photo was published on the PLA News.
