All of a sudden Uzbekistan has better planes than even Russia itself!

I wonder why would a country in Russian sphere of influence agree to buy Chinese fighters. My impression was, Russia strictly protects former soviet countries from Chinese influence especially in the military realm.
Uzbekistan economically very close to China. BYD has large factory their so China has influence.

Does Russia have the manufacturing capacity to provide the weapons?

Central Asia is a shared sphere. Russia can't hold it alone since the Ukraine war.
Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan had HQ-9 HQ-12 (KS-1x) a decade ago.
Only Kazahastan is militarily Russia. Tajikistan has a Russian military base and is close to Iran.
