IMHO they can't and shouldn't. Especially F-16V, which is later, more advanced, but also less ambitious upgrade compared to the previous F-16 blk.60. Should it be downgraded?
Difference between pluses and .5 is purely mine (since there are two parallel systems, why not use them) - otherwise, they're used interchangeably.

I think this is becoming somewhat semantic.

I understand that you're saying there's a difference between "4.5th generation aircraft" and "4.5th generation capability" but i think the differentiator you are using for it (flight control system sophistication of original iterations??) is an odd one and not in keeping with the most important determinants of modern aerial warfare.

Revisiting story on May 4th (before the shootdowns) of J-10Cs jamming a Rafale patrol. Now with that possible 3:0 kill ratio, I wonder if this was an actual precursor and warning not just chaff:

On night of April 29-30, four Indian Rafale fighter jets were electronically jammed and forced to withdraw from Pakistan India border, amid tensions. Rafales fighter jets lost radar contact and communications, prompting the emergency landings in Srinagar.

Reportedly, Pakistan deployed J-10C equipped with advanced electronic warfare (EW) systems. This disrupted the Rafales' sensors despite their sophisticated SPECTRA suite that is designed to counter radar jamming, missile threats & electronic intrusion.

From what I’ve read it wasn’t the J-10C on patrol but JF-17 block 3. IAF already got a taste of it but still decided to go ahead…

What kind of jamming capabilities does J-10CE and JF-17blk3 possess? Are dedicated jamming pods installed, or are integrated EW suites capable of jamming built into the airframe? Would imagine jamming an AESA radar must be pretty difficult.
