Sure seems like the Chinese have not learned from the Hainan Island Incident despite repeatedly using that incident to highlight the "bravery" of its pilots.

Maneuvers like this will only push NATO countries to take a harder line; we shouldn't be surprised if the next Aurora shows up with a pair of CF-188s alongside it.
What's your point? China is practicing self defense over it's own extended airspace.

Accidents happen from time to time, or need I remind you of the amount of men and material randomly lost from poor American piloting/captaining skills every so often?

Remember, the last time, the "bravery" of your side lost you an entire JSDF helicopter full of command staff, and you didn't even have the bravery or capabillity to properly go look for the bodies. Canada, just like Japan, is incapable of presenting a real threat. Should an incident happen, they can only bow their heads and pretend they saw nothing.

That'd be a dream come true for the PLAAF and PLAN naval aviation, fresh new aggressors come presenting themselves for dogfight session is getting hard to come by.

And with 540km combat range, may better have CC-150 on standby too...or let's add a "defend critical asset" session in the impromptu exercise as well since everything in place...

Ok guys … as long as other nations fly in international airspace such events will happen but we should stop Overhyping them and even more so fuelling this chat with such plain stupid comments. As if intentionally downing a foreign plane in international airspace would ease the tensions!?

The CF-188 are so full of duct tape that if they get a wake vortex from a j-11 they would desintegrate... interesting that they used a j-10s for interception, more training or it was carrying some bigshot ?

Forcing US & allied recon planes to use an escort would be a win for China, making such missions much more expensive. I think this also explains to some extent China's behavior in the SCS - either US assumes extra cost and does patrols with PH, or it doesn't and its credibility as an ally is damaged. Basically a cost imposition strategy.
