According to rumors from CJDBY:

Only the J-10Bs are equipped with WS-10 engines. Since the J-10C is much heavier than either J-10B or J-10A, it is using 99M1 for performance enhancement.

Does that imply that the latest J-20s (2016/2017) are equipped with 99M1s as well?

WS-10-powered production J-10B with yellow PLAAF serials ... ready for delivery ??!!!
..............
About time, the bigger question for PLAAF is when they're going to replace the AL31 with WS10 on the hundreds of J10A, which is fast becoming a death trap with AL31 nearing the end of its reliability bathtub curve just as things are heating up in South & East China Sea.

IF true, it seems CAC hasn't learnt its lesson from relying on Russian engines. Nothing magical about enhancing performance by sacrificing reliability & durability.
They can expect increasing crashes after about 5 years, this time with the much more expensive J10C air-frame & subsystems.

Since I'm trying to stay up to speed but am struggeling a bit after all the catching up in the holidays, sorry for the more daft question of where does it (J-10B with WS-10) come from?

the batch 01 Bs were al AL-31 powered, except for the last two, right? So is this one of the two now operational, let's call them, WS-10 long time test birds for FTTC? Or has the PLAAF / CAC reengined the jets just prior delivery?

Essentially there are 55 production Bs, the last two with WS-10 right fromt the start, in one batch. With the follow on batch beaing Cs, really. Correct?
