All the holes have been precisely drilled by the machines when the fuselage pieces are being fabricated.

He is riveting the fuselage pieces together, not drilling holes into them.

We have seen news about a new radar being installed on that forum a couple of day ago on j-10a and new WS-10 installed on J-10s that had al-31 before. Maybe it's part of an extension program or maybe part of testing for one.

There is another reason for the radar upgrade: the original PD radars are very old at this stage and capabilities have deteriorated from use. Some of the worst ones can only see half as far as they did before. Radar change for some of the J-10A is a necessity rather than luxury.
