With the J-10C's airframe size limitations, there is no way it could outclass the Rafale in every single aspect, no matter how much you upgrade it. However, the J-10C could use a bit of extra teething, including the addition of wingtip pylons, further incorporation of composite materials for the airframe, a WS-10B-3 TVC engine, more dual-ejector racks, and general incremental avionics updates.

They really out to maximize the J-10's airframe, given its size limitations.
lmao,j10 is literally bigger in size than rafale.....

Pictures released by local media showed that Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan attended the ceremony and sat in the cockpit of the J-10CE to get close contact with the new fighter jet. The J-10CE is an all-weather, single-engine, single-seat, multi-role fighter jet independently developed by @Aviation Industry. (Headquarters reporter Cui Ru)

Just wanted to comment that Imran Khan is 6 ft tall. Looks like the cabin is very spacious.

A good angle. It perfectly captures the tapered IFR probe.

The argument that the Pakistanis would be better off with more, not fewer, J-10s is false because the PAKAF is always going to be outnumbered. It's a small and relatively backward nation of a couple hundred million vs 1.3-1.4 billion Indians.

It's better for the Pakistanis to have an aircraft that's qualitatively superior to every single Indian aircraft, so that the Pakistanis can always pick their battles and run when the Indians get sufficient numerical superiority.

Oh please! What a logic ... the J-10CE is currently the best they can get or do you suggest since they won't get J-20s in large numbers to overwhelm the IAF they should better leave it and surrender?

Yes, they will never get an air force comparable in size to the IAF but they also won't get this type of "qualitatively superior to every single Indian aircraft", what the PAF however can do is, to field a large enough fleet than any potential conflict with any possible opponent costs too much and here surely a larger number of J-10CE is anyway better than a lower.
