What kind of tactics and combat doctrine does the PLAAF utilize now that they have state of the art equipment? Wars are one as much by infrastructure, training and doctrine as equipment. Just see the way Israel kicked the cr#p out of the various Arab Air forces in war after war despite the Arab countries having good equipment.

Tactics developed at Dingxin are under wraps. What I do know is that the process some times start with pilots arguing about viable tactics on the ground and immediately ends up with them “proving it” in the air, some times involving multiple sorties that last well into the night.

Interesting intel I just noticed:

"PAF electronic warfare specialists were flown to the PLAAF’s Dingxin Test & Training Base in China’s Gansu province last October for helping the PLAAF optimise the performance (when operating against the IAF) of its latest airborne electronic warfare platform, the Y-9G."

Interesting, since it seems to dump fuel before landing since it is not black but white or light grey and the WS-10 has such a device similar to the AL-31FN.

Weapon payload is a big drawback on J10, do you guys think J10CP getting any improvement on the hardpoint?
It would be nice to have the inner drop tank hardpoint to have weapon capacity.

That is without drop tanks. If you take 3 drop tanks like plaaf. Payload reduce considerably.

The way I heard it is to put weapons in the inner most pylons requires disassembly of panels on top of the wings to get to the electrical connections. So it's possible but a pain in the ass and not worth the bother in peace time. In peace times PLAAF just leave the drop tanks on those pylons.
