J-10 Thread IV

I don't think Iran would go for it. They are a large country and want a heavy fighter, which they will obtain in the form of Su-35. Thailand wants F-35. If Lockmart shuts them down I think the J-10C still has a chance. One of the reasons they sent J-10C to Falcon Strike 2019 was to impress the Thai Air Force.
Iran, tho’, might still be smarting from the delay, and consequent wrangling, over their S-300 purchase. Russia is still beholden to the Israel lobby (why I don’t know) and has demonstrated their willingness to limit Iranian access to advanced weapons, accordingly.

Israel has strong relationships with many countries that it does not suit either side to shout about. China, Russia, India and Saudi Arabia to name but 4. They used to be strong friends with Turkey as well, even having joint air exercises.

However, I doubt the Israel lobby could affect China’s choices of to whom and when to sell their weapons!

So no IFR probe or is it only for now and it'll be installed later? If not then it will serve mostly in the air-to-air role I think.

It looks like the probe can literally be bolted on from the below pic.

And if I look closely at the comparison image Deino posted, I think I see the square panel present in the new batch:

J-10CP cn. 0720 vs J-10C Batch 03 maybe + notes.jpg

The IFR probe is useful regardless of the mission. It greatly adds to the loiter time in CAP and Escort sorties.

From what I've heard, one squadron will be deployed at Kamra AFB under the Northern Air Command. Rafales are only expected in the North. But the other squadron is headed South, where the PAF also has to cover the Navy and the coast. So the IFR probe would definitely be needed there, even for CAP.

With that said, with or without the probe, the primary role of J-10s will likely be Air to Air. I expect the same for the Block IIIs.

Maybe finally we will get to know what are the specifications for WS-10B maintenance, instead of rumors.

Any confirmation that J-10CP would get WS-10B? quite interesting really as the recent of PLAAF J-10 series use WS-10A

What the real improvement of B from A ?

I think finally China has been able to "crack the very hard nuts" now it seems very comfortable of producing many high performance turbo fan engines ... and getting better and better every month ...... thats must be very scary moment for some countries

Right, I think this was a ws10 story just as much as j10 story.

Just think about what could have happened with this program if ws10b was available and reliable sooner. They basically waited until it generated as much as thrust as the Russian engines they are replacing and probably more reliable before they put it on j10.

I am just a little saddened that j10 will likely not be in too many other air forces. I think paf will eventually have a fleet of 70 to 100 j10s. The only other major order I could see is from Iran. It would have been nice if j10c was available for the Thailand contest. I think it would have won that one. I do hope they promote it more aggressively over the next few years. Keeping production line open would give greater support to the j10s still in service with plaaf.

How about Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Serbia, Egypt, North Korea, South Africa, Laos, Myanmar ?

Oh come on ... why are there any doubts that it might NOT use the WS-10B?? There si simply NOTHING to debate.

How do you think a hypothetical Turkish J10 would perform against Greek Rafales over the Aegean?

(Sorry, couldn't resist;-)
if the hypothetical Turkish J10s are armed with PL15s then the greek rafales are in deep shit. they shouldn't hold their breath on the meteors, PL15s out range the meteors by at least 50kms. and if the hypothetical Turkish J10s are also armed PL10s integrated with HMDs then WVR combat will be sheer suicide for the greek rafales.
