that's what I thought too. I don't see difference between this any batch 01 J-10Bs. Maybe the changes are all on the inside.

On the subject of AAM, maybe it's newly developed for internal weapon bay.

You asked a similar question a while back, and I provided an answer -- at this stage I think the answer is the same, with one difference (bolded below)

https://www.sinodefenceforum.com/j-10-thread-iv.t7305/page-40#post-369324

At present:
  • Confirmed: J-10Bs produced, powered by Al-31s with one large batch complete
  • Confirmed: more J-10Bs powered by Al-31s (batch two)
  • Confirmed: J-10Cs powered by Al-31s undergoing flight tests, likely preparing for production soon
  • Confirmed: one J-10 prototype airframe (likely J-10B, possibly 1035 from a few years back) seen doing flight tests with a WS-10
In future:
  • J-10B (powered by Al-31) production will be superseded by J-10C in mass production, where an initial batch or more may be powered by Al-31
  • J-10Cs in production will eventually be mass produced with WS-10s

Arent Block 02 aircraft J-10Cs?

To admit so far I thought it was clear but now it's getting confusing again (at least for me) !

If You compare the details, then this is for sure an AL-31FN Series 3-powered Batch 02 aircraft ... but is it a J-10B or J-10C ??

It clearly has the new antenna on the tail (but is this enough to call it a C ?) but it lacks the one under the nose behind the radome (so still a B ??) ... and the other one on the spine can't be seen. Really strange.

At least Huitong calls it a J-10C:

The latest images (November 2015) indicated that the production of 02 batch continues. These are thought to be the improved

A picture posted by ShahryarHedayat on the Persian Gulf & Middle East Military News thread is kind of interesting. Look at that humongous J-10 painting behind the two generals in the background. It's that the Chinese subliminal message of "Buy J-10! Buy J-10!" to the Iranian delegation? :DJet-10 painting.jpg

The J-10A cannot be exported due to engines.

China can always cooperate with Russia to sell the J-10A with AL-31F engines just like JF-17 for Pakistan. It's not like China is selling J-11 to the Iranian.

IRIAF Commander Brigadier-General Hassan Shah-Safi : Hey, nice J-10 painting behind us General Ma.:D

China's Air Force Commander General Ma Xiaotian: You like it Hassan ? Maybe 2-3 dozen to go on discount?

I think that 201 and 1051 are two different planes. These new planes wee see here are from the "201 line". The "1051 line" would come later either batch 3 or even 4.

As for the AL-31FN series 3 engines. Don't CAC still have over 100 of those engines in stock ? They have already paid for them so they might as well use them. What else are they going to do with them ? I think my excitement of J-10B mass produced with WS-10B was premature.
