Other than the above alleged picture of J-10C ( from Polite_Robber ) ... ...
If anybody has some photo of J-10C, from different angle or higher resolution ... ...

Please help and do us a favor ... ... by posting them here ... ...
Thank you so much before hand.

Was wondering what the big deal was and then realized, that there are two!

I'd like to wait until we see multiple more J-10s with WS-10s on the tarmac before fully acknowledging that mass production J-10s are finally powered by Taihang... though I'm hopeful.

Also, a big question for me is whether the J-10s with WS-10s are at J-10B level avionics or J-10C. The airframes lack the extra spine antennae that was previously seen on some prototypes dubbed J-10C (along with a few other small changes), but I'm not sure if they might be only present on the prototype or if production J-10Cs also have them.

The fourth picture looks a bit like PS, because the second plane looks bigger than the closer one. However, maybe I am looking at a wrong angle.

It looks normal to me. There's also no logical reason for the photographer and poster to drag their own name and reputation through the mud by deliberately trying to deceive everyone by doctoring a photo.

There is always the possibility that the J-10Bs have been retrofitted with J-10C avionics, or that its alleged PESA was only present on a few pre-production prototypes.

that is a possibility, yes, but that still leaves the question as to how can we externally differentiate between an aircraft with J-10B level avionics versus J-10C level avionics... is it the spine antennae, the difference in tail antennae, and under-nose antennae? Are those key things to look for or are they unimportant?

1) Could anyone explain the existence of the ( Gold Edge Canopy ) and ( Gold Rectangular Box on the right side / starboard ) on set of J-10B posted by Deino ?

2) And, ... ... why the most recent set of Adam_Y * J-10B posted by JayBird do not have those 2 Golden item ?

Like I said ... I think I should be away from home much more often.... ...

Absolutely agree. LoL :D :D

I personally think many of us here -- would like you to move and live in Suburb of ChengDu or DaLian or HongKong ( with a top notch Chinese--German translation service in your neighborhood ).

I heard ChengDu and DaLian environment are quite good.
If you like bustle and hustle living, then Hong Kong is fantastic.

And, you can criss cross China riding the CRH 350 km/hr train ( soon to be raised to 350 ). Don't worry folks ... ...
The 17,000+ km CRH rail track is designed to handle 500+ km/hr maximum speed.

I hope crobato visit SDF more often and share crobato expertise with all of us.
Especially during this exciting time of so many new stuffs on the horizon.
Who knows crobato can even tip you on the serial numbers
... ...

Back to topic of J-10B ... ...

According to Zhongnanhai Bodyguard(中南海保镖) Except airframe 201, all other J-10C have the following differences from the outside that's different than J-10B.

1.Extra antenna on the upper fuselage.
2.Extra antenna on vertical stabiliser
3. 2/3 of the Leading edge flap covered with wave transparent skin? J-10B only have one small patch(grey color). But difficult to identify it once the whole airframe is painted in grey color.

201初期没有,后续机最明显特征有三:
1、脊背两个天线
2、垂尾端多个天线
3、前缘襟翼2/3透波蒙皮,B只有一小块透波,这个特征黄皮好认,灰皮不一定看得出。

The golden tint to the canopy is caused by the application of radar absorbent material within the canopy glass.

That servers to reduced the RCS of fighters by preventing enemy radar signals from getting big returns from the inside of the canopy.

It may also server a secondary purpose of protecting pilots from excess radiation exposure from enemy radars, since modern sets are very powerful and could literally fry small animals if it hit them with a full powered burst.

As for the canopy frame, I think that's just yellow primer, so the entire canopy looks to be a newly installed unit fresh from the factory that hasn't even been painted yet.

Same thing with the box. Its just a panel that has been replaced and not yet painted.
