Ariana ... you are new here .... what your objectives and intentions by posting all articles to support that Israel helped China ... if it is the case, so what? There is no doubt among us that J-10 was influenced by Lavi and some help/assistance from Israel .... but saying that J-10 has some parts made in USA and Israle ... is just purely propaganda

You can find any articles to support anything you want to believe .. as simple as Google it.

Please dont waste the space and our time ... I am done responding to you

Hi Ariana,

To clarify, the book that you are referring to was published in January 2016, not September 2016. September was the date for the blog post that you referenced.

The blog itself pays no mention to the J-10 whatsoever. In fact, out of several blog posts that the author has made on the subject of the Lavi, none of them makes any mention of the J-10 (although there is quite a bit of detail surrounding the Lavi program itself and the design trades that went into it):

Finally, as someone who has actually read the book in question, I can attest that at well over 400 pages in length, the book makes only a passing reference to the role that Israeli engineers might have made in the development of the Chengdu J-10: all of two and a half pages worth. This is not a central topic of interest for this book, and nowhere does the book suggest that the J-10 contains any components produced in the United States or Israel.

Hi,'

So many posters dying to create distance between the design of the J10 and the istraeli involvement---it sounds so silly.

No .. there's no-one denying the close Sino-Israeli-connections once and surely even with this project; the image showing Dr. Song in front of the Lavi prototype at IAI is proof enough. But IMO it is sill, ridiculous, yes even annoying how much close some people still want to make this connection.

The J-10 was, is not and will NEVER be a Lavi-clone, at best can be interpret as some sort of "design heavily inspired by", a concept heavily influenced but dramatically altered due to a different requirement, a approach to manufacture, different most of all in size and powerplant. So it can maybe compared with the development from the original YF-17 Cobra to a current F/A-18E Super Hornet and no-one would cal the SH a Cobra-clone.

As such it is indeed silly, but not how much peoples want to "create distance" but more like some peoples try to create a closer relationship than it is.

There has been close relations between China and Israel for a long time. China plays a large role in the current upgrade of Israeli railways. And it is well possible that Israeli companies transmitted much more US and Israeli technical information than US would think acceptable. To illustrate the Israeli attitude long ago a friend of mine emigrated to Israel around 1970 and found a job as chemical engineer with a pharmaceutical company and his work was to analyse US pharmaceuticals to duplicate them without paying for licences. But I imagine that since the Chinese AWACS that Israel was to build US is keeping a sharp eye on what is going on. There just cannot be any dependence of J-10 on Israeli or US parts. And the differences between J-10 and Lavi are so large that there is no support for notions that Israeli support had any significance to the development of J-10.
