Starting to wonder if the J-10"C" is actually a test plane for new subsystems, not a model meant for production.
Why would you think that based on that picture?
It is entirely sensible that PL-15 (ie crop wing PL-12) would supersede the PL-12 variants as the new standard MRAAM, and given J-10C is one of the newest fighters it makes sense to integrate the newer weapons onto the newest platform first. In that photo we can also make out the PL-10 SRAAM quite clearly.
And J-10C is definitely in production, check the CDF J-10 thread... specifically here:
At least 49 J-10C airframes have been produced, probably over 50, close to 60 by now. Makes sense considering how many J-10Bs were produced in that first batch and how long it took for them to be built.
