Hi all
A recent press information anticipated that there is an offer for a batch of about 18 J-10B for the Argentina Air Force.
An Argentine military delegation would travel to China next month to know capabilities on the plane and move forward into the details of the offer.
The proposal would have emerged during the last visit of the Chinese delegation who recently meet the Argentine Minister of Defense and apparently aircraft would be "ready for delivery" ( I guess if "maybe" could be the Batch 01 of which 14 aircraft were in the CAC factory in Dic2014 ready to be received by the PLAAF).
Any comments from there will be welcome.
Thanks in advance and best regards

Purchasing of afirst batch of 110 VN1 110 and a Polar vessel was agreed, among other equipment.

well, if that's the case, would be interesting to see if it's for J-10A or J-10B.

btw, do you by any chance have links for these news?

Mr Tphuang

Let me explain you.

The official announcement detailing the new agreements with Chinese contemplate a first batch of 110 VN-1 APC, a polar ship, 3 OPV (derived from the class 056 design) and expanding manufacturing of explosives. This is 100% official.

Unofficially, a journalist belonging to the Government Press Agency comment in a prestigious Argentine Military Forum, the details of the J-10B supply offer that I previously mentioned.

Sadly, It’s all I can add at the moment.

If I have made the decision to consult is due to the prestige of your Forum.

I hope I have not bothered.

Best regards

Another thing to consider is that Argentina's president Cristina Kirchner will travel to China in early February with a large entourage, including a delegation from the Ministry of Defence.
According to comments of the state news agency Journalist, there would move on a new "swap" for the purchase of weapons

The Argentina Air Force urgently need to replace the Mirage weapons system, to be decommissioned by the end of 2015
Second hand J-10A/S or J-10B Lot 1, either option is valid for the Air Force.
They have been discarded bids for Mirage F-1M from Spain and F-1C/E from Jordan and loses interest on israel offer of Kfir C-10 "very" updated (even with ELTA 2052 radar). There are also rumors about Gripen NG "made in Brazil", available from 2025; but the ghost of UK embargo would make the operation unviable
Fortunately, Argentina Air Force would be in a very favorable position to receive an offer by J-10 fighter as a replacement for the Mirage fleet.

Best regards

="t2contra, post: 324777, member: 4560"]There was a report that leasing of Russian Migs was the preferred choice. What happened?

There have been dozens of fighters offers to retrofit the Argentine military aviation, some from Russia. The Argentine military have doubts about the logistics chain and after sales service from Rusia. The only purchase from this origin were 2 Mil MI-171E for Antarctic operations. They really are true workhorses and Argentina Air Force Force is fascinated with the performance of the helos. But now comes the first technical inspections and there will be as Russia fulfill the contract. However, doubts about the maintenance of a squadron of Flankers and/or Fulcrums will represent a much more complex challenge. And above all things, Argentina prefer single engine aircraft due to operational and maintenance costs.

Best regards
