43 planes! And that is just the first batch! And we have no idea how many more is to come. Any possibility that those pics are photoshopped ? I would rather see them starting to produce the improved block 2.

My Goodness!

Nice and even more impressive, since former serials blocks were smaller (as far as I remember) ... by the way any news about a J-10B at Zhuhai ???

It looks like that J-10S has two similar cockpits. Besides, the front ejection seat has two penetration blades. However, the rear ejection seat does not.

It's a very large batch of aircraft this J10B, 43 units it's more than the entire JF-17 production at PAC, which was 42 units!!

Wow a huge set of aircraft are the pilots going to be able to absorb these units will take years and years before they can master this unit

Never the less finally good to see it's go operational with the PLAAF

J10B goes operational

Yes, we also have aircraft spotted with the serial ending of 0 (giving the assumption it is at least a 10), 2 and 8 ... so all we need is confirmation, which unit will get them.

Here is what I suspect the PLAAF will do.

After giving test aircraft to CFTE, wouldn't they 1st equip those units with a lot of experience in operating the J-10A.

Then those units would pass on their J-10A's to other units that are operating older model aircraft like the J-7 or J-8.

That way things like maintenance and familiarization do not become an issue, and they can concentrate on learning what's new on the J-10B.

Just my 2 cents.

Asif, Deino what's your opinion?

I completely agree with You, which corresponds to the reports about the ones being transferred to the FTTC as an operational test unit, and after that the 44. Division will get the first J-10Bs ... if these would go or were already gone to the 131. Regiment or another one, I don't know ... at least the guy who took these image surely knows.

To admit with now more than 43 J-10B produced there are either huge piles standing around at CAC or a first operation unit must have received them already.

This is the first confirmation of active J-10B unit that I have seen. But I was thinking about something else, we have seen very few ships being commissioned into PLAN this year at least compared to previous years and the pace of construction at the shipyards have slowed down considerably. We haven't seen a single Type 052C or Type 054A commissioned this year. Only one Type 052D and the status of Type 052C 152 Jinan is uncertain at this point. May this have to do with the fact that the PLA is shifting more of its procurement budget to the air force.
