Uhhhh... We don't even know if the PLA is funding the J-31 development. All evidence suggests that the SAC is doing this on their own. Where did you get the idea that they would build 1000 of them??? Making judgement based on a bad rumor?

From Military Today

It seems that this new aircraft will reach production. Some sources report that China plans to produce about 1 000 of these stealthy fighters. Possibly this aircraft will be also proposed to export customers.

china now has mutch prototypes of aircrafts, but no aircraft is there in larger numbers ( 240 J-10A i think)

Let me provide the link to your claim, so everyone can actually see it easier.

And let me give you a friendly advice seeing that you are new here.

When you read from a source, do take awhile to think.

Some sources report that China plans to produce about 1 000 of these stealthy fighters. Possibly this aircraft will be also proposed to export customers.

When a document started throwing these words around, I would normally just dump that link down the drain. Because it is not accurate and the author clearly are bsing. Why? What are the sources? If these sources are legimate or even real, then any credible document will be sure to put down these sources... but we see none.

Also, do use common sense to think things through. 1000 J-31... really? J-31 is costing, what? One dollar apiece? And the training of pilots to fly these aircraft are coming two to a dozen? I mean come on!

Also,

The J-31 resembles a scaled-down version of American F-22 Raptor.

I am not suppose to hotlink any images here... so I will just use my words. Is the author blind or what. J-31 resemble F-22, in what universe? The only thing that they share is that both had a pair of wings. And even that pair of wings are different.

It also has some features of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.

What features? The author of that passage stopped there... I think he cannot answer his own speculation... if he/she meant that both have stealth features, then... yes, both have internal weapon bay, yes. Both can fly, yes. As to other things... funny, how does he know?

Seriously... I find that passage laughable and I find it even funnier that anyone will take that seriously.

why china has so mutch aircraft J-20, J-31, J-18, J-16

the J-10B/C would compete with F-16 or F-18

it is a modern fighter with AESA, IRST, DSI, MAW, ECM, EW suite, mutch composites and radar absorbent materials
when china builds 1000 J-10B it will have a good AF, but i've read china wants probably build 1000 J-31?? bad investment

First, why can't China has so much aircraft. That question is flawed already.

Secondly, there is no J-18. Everyone been telling you that. There is no J-18, get that in.

J-16 is a logical upgrades of J-11B, much like Su-35 to Su-30... nothing to be amaze with.

J-20 is a stealth fighter, which is also a logical way of doing things since everyone is moving into stealth. J-31 is privately funded and not even sure if PLAAF will use this design in future. Even if they do use it... I would believe that it would be the lo in the hi-lo mixture of fighters (whereby J-20 will be the hi and J-31 is the lo).

Valapak, please be more careful about the sources you use and not post unsubstantiated sources or rumours here.

The rest of the video would have been perfectly fine without them having to include that top gun footage again (!).

It's like giving others a bone to pick and a gun to shoot your foot with.

I don't think CCTV or any of the official propaganda outlets actually do any fact checking.
