I believe they are PS, actually, these are 2 different plans, if you look into details, I don't think they have 2 different proto type

And what prevents the PLA from having two prototypes?

the IRST may use locally design compact IRST,since russian make iRST is simple to big and heavy.

A question. What are the odds of J10B being an internal Chengdu project, tailored for Pakistani air force (and perhaps other potential exports)? If that's the case, PLA doesn't have to order these planes... Was fc1 tested at chengdu or also at cfte's airbase? Can these pics be traced as to where were they taken?
