Oh FFS, not this again. This is the kind of nonsense I expect over at the Butt-hurt aka Keypublishing forums, not here.

As others have already pointed out, CAC did get some help from Israel that probably benefitted the J10, but those would have been mostly on subsystems, most likely, the FBW and radar. But the fact is, the J10-Lavi clone theory has been so thoroughly discredited, that the only people who still cling to it are the haters and trolls who simply refuse to believe otherwise regardless of minor details like facts, logic, physics or common sense.

Now, sorry if it was an honest question because someone is knew to all this, but I think in such cases, google is your friend, and it is best to do a little basic research yourself before asking such a basic question on such a well discussed subject.

After lurking some of the other threads I was hoping to get a relatively unbiased, objective summary of the differences between the two as the threads here seemed relatively civil. Wikipedia wasn't very informative and from past observation other forums tend to be more polemical when the topic of Chinese military modernisation is even raised. If there was any grief caused I can assure you it wasn't intended.

Edit: Also thanks for the other replies. I think I have a fairly good idea now, alot of people charge that the J-10 is a Lavi clone simply because they look similar, much the same way as they would claim consumer good counterfeits are 'ripoffs'. Obviously this argument does not hold in the realm of military technology; it's like saying the AK47 was a Stg44 clone.

That's not true. Those documentary is PLA endorsed and even the spokesman and PLA personal has military rank. You are telling us PLA tells things that they themselves don't even sure? Then where do we got the sources from. CNN or US military?

Don't forget CCTV are state control. Everything need to be screen before broadcast.

CCTV especially CCTV7 military news may be accurate to a certain extent but the photos and videos can be quite misleading, and the trick is they always stated " acoording to news from foreign source..... " type of disclaimer rather than official statement from PLA or Chinese government.

Those 2 are totally different planes, one have 2 vertical stabilizer while the other only have one. Also the position of the intake is completely different too. That earlier picture looks more a J-8 delta wing with canards in front with tail removed.
