It's good news that Chinese fighter jets have less accident. But you need look into what matter. Chinese pilots are very conservative, I don't know why. Maybe they have strict regulation about flying or maybe they are afraid of taking responsibility of their equipment. The western pilots, on the other hand, are free of responsibility. I saw clips long ago, a French pilot flew his Rafael and he almost got his ass wet. A F-14 flying at sea level and blew up two water column. Chinese pilots? Their ultra low altitude is almost 50m above sea level!

Yup! Western fighter crashing into residential area with their gung ho attitude. Sure looks fun, right?

Everything, there is good and bad. The point here is not risky flying but responsibility free flying. If there is too much regulation binding pilots, then they are afraid to do this and that. At the end, they can't dig out all the potential ability of the aircraft. Responsibility free has its disadvantage too. Western pilots are likely to fly their aircraft riskily and simple jump off when it tend to crash. Chinese pilots tend to save the aircraft or avoid residential area with all they can do. Sometime they lost their lives for doing so. However, let make it clear that those crashes into residential area mostly due to mechanical/technical problems, not risky flying.

The F14 blowing up two water columns is a painting, oil painting for that matter. No such event ever took place in the real world.

I believe it's up to elite test pilots to push the aircraft to its limits, as for other pilots, they have strict rules to follow, and for good reasons. Some of those rules come at the price of blood and lives. With today's busy sky, pilots, flying fighters or airliners, would have to follow the orders from ground controls to prevent any collision.

Pic of the J-10A used by the Chengdu regiment (which won several golden helmets). Note the Eagle insignias on the tail and the nose.
