My opinion for what it's worth is that we need only look to the past to see what China will do. China seems to be willing to produce many variants of aircraft as they are improved and operate them all at once, look at the J-7 and J-8, Su-27/30/J-11/J-15.
Also when the Chinese have decided to put there minds and resources to something then they are capable of amazing results. Look how far they've come in so short a time. if you look at what people were saying back in 2000 or the late 1990s you'll find most said they wouldn't be even close to where they are now.
Having said that I wouldn't be in the least surprised if they have many of the speculated (and some completely unknown) projects on the go.
