Or perhaps we can start the third J10 thread when some new development on J10B project surfaces.

It has been far too long since we heard about J10B last time.

Huitong's site suggested that J-10B might only be a testbed for technologies to be used on J-20. That would explain why there was a flurry of J-10B prototype (including a painted one) but then nothing afterward.

J-10's 5 kills to nothing beat SU-30’s in a Red-Blue air combat.

Blue force had one plane that got away and dropped bombs on Red force ground post. So, the Blue force won the battle.

We have seen an article about a PLAAF regiment commander Li Feng who piloted a J-10 landed safely after the engine lost power. This Red force regiment commander is also Li Feng. Are they the same person? The photo in this report shown J-10’s against Su-30’s.

do you mind actually making some comment about these videos that you post in the future rather than just generic stuff like "Your Guess Is As Good As Mine"

From the look of it the exercise between J10 & Su-30MKK wasn't telling much about either planes. How can a Su-30MKK outmaneuver a J10 while carrying AG munitions? Would it be fairer to send a few Su-27 as escorts for Su-30MKK to portray a more realistic scenario?

china is going to sell J-10 to pakistan?

I read the news yesterday on MSN ( chinese web), it was deleted later, don't know how reliable it is.

chief of staff of pakistani airforce posing in front of a KJ-200 and said: "china and pakistan are finalising the details on selling J-10 to pakistan"

Indeed, actually I'd say that it was a blunder that the Su-30MKK made it to its destination to unload its payload give that it was so tied down with munitions. Several people on this and other forums are saying this either means: J-10 pilots lack experience and are not aggressive enough or that for the interception role the J-10 still has its work cut out for it. Given that it was an interception scenario I wonder how J-8Fs would handle the situation?

The big shrimps on CD said that some of the Su-30s provided escort while others carried air to ground munition. Don't know whether the escort Su-30s are included in the 5 or not.

There is some speculation that the blue team went for a "self-sacrificial tactic" (baiting the J-10s with the other four planes so the 5th could break through). Considering that the whole point of the exercise is to help the red team to improve their intercept capabilities I guess it is a good thing that they were so harsh with the "grading".

a bunch of J-10 August first demonstration team photos. There has been a lot of these photos, so i'm just posting a very small subset.

As for the Su-30 vs J-10 debate, we really don't know the circumstances and ROE in those exercises, so it's hard to make sense of the shellacking.
