It seems IDF ground force is as incompetent as Mossad is brilliantly effective, what a strange combo. As underhanded Mossad's MO is they are really the MVP on Israel side.

However assassinating their enemies leader does not seems to translate to battlefield advantages, Hezbollah still maintain unit cohesion despite the lost of their leader and they're mauling the Israelli hard. As far as defensive operation is concerned each units can more or less operate independent from central command.
The only reasoning Mossad is effective and all are mainly due to having the backing of the US providing as a cover.

Most of its operations were just downright illegal and irrational for a sensible state to partake. It is quite a paper tiger without any of its "glamorous" spec ops and not to mention it cost a huge amount of resources in conducting such operations and make Israel open to external attacks (e.g. 1973 Yom Kippur War).
What fighter jet? Their museum pieces?
Considering the Russians experiencing some trouble in dealing with Ukrainian Su-24 lobbing cruise missile attacks, what's stopping Iran doing the same anyway? They have around 23 of it.

Truthfully, Iran could have gotten their Su-35s long time ago if they didn't demand for Transfer of Technology, which is quite a tall order for the Russians.

They say the US has four women in the Middle East, one jealous wife and three mistresses. In Iran's case, ex-mistress who wants the old days back. It is hard to deal with someone's ex.

As Putin said, Russia wanted to join NATO, Russia was cheated, Russia was played, Russia was rejected. And on first hint, Russian folks have high hopes for Trump.

Let's just let things run on their nature course.

Imo only BM seemed to present a real challenge against Israeli air defenses so far, Iran don't have the number of airframes to make air launched Cruise missiles much more than a nuisance for Israel. Unless they coordinate with Hezbollah in conjunction with a massed rocket launch, which is also severely handicapped after the recent assassination of many high ranking liaison between the two.

Even if such an attack succeeds, it's almost guaranteed for the US to become fully involved afterwards, which is a no-go for Iran.

The Iranians could redesign their cruise missiles with stealth airframes to make them more survivable. Someone in Iran clearly is working on stealth airframes, otherwise how would they have got that stealth fighter prototype? It is kind of surprising to me they did not make a stealth cruise missile yet. It is a low bar.
