There's not much chance of Israel achieving any sort of lasting victory that isn't a pyrrhic one. In fact, they've already lost by being forced to react to the successful attack. I doubt they can even root out Hamas from Gaza.

Last time they entered Gaza, it was only a few km to demolish tunnels.
This time they'll have to occupy the entire thing, house to house to root out Hamas.

Perhaps that is HAMAS's primary objective and end goal. They know they are severely overmatched militarily, so the only play they have left is to muster all their resources together and pull something extraordinary and brutal like this off, to shock Israel so much that IDF's retaliatory response would be so severe and punishing to Gazans that they think they may finally get the global attention and focus they think they deserved.
Depending on how severe the potential ground invasion and air strikes are, Hamas may be banking on the Arab world coalescing together as one, putting up a united front in support of the Palestinians cause.

And they both came from ABRAHAMIC RELIGION (I mean both Jews and Islam), so this is a family quarrel that gone nasty. They are battling each other for inheritance instead of sharing it with each other.

It makes no sense at all for Israel to escalate and randomly attack Iran or Syria in an act of aggression. That will just invite more attacks from Hezbollah and the Iranian troops that are already in Syria

Anyone that really knows the history of the British mandate of Israel knows that the contingency allowed for land in Uganda to be the new Israel should Palestine not be politically viable; yes Uganda!
So, all this biblico+mytho foolishness about Cannan/Palestine being the only option is historically false!

And, since Israel might have been in Uganda, maybe Idi Amin Dada wasn’t just the last Kinf of Scotland, but, also, the last King of The Jews!
