Here is the thing the longer Israel holds the corridors the more they expose their soldiers to being killed and wounded. Many ex and current Israeli military officials have all said they do not want the IOF to stay in Gaza. They are losing manpower and equipment in the morass. Hamas is stronger than ever. They have been able to replace their losses and recruited more men than they could imagine. Meanwhile Israel is struggling to get 10k men mobilized. They are bogged down in Gaza. Facing a growing insurgency in the West Bank and have no solution to the crisis in the north against Hezbollah. This is why many of the Israeli defense and intelligence establishment want an end of the war in Gaza. They know the longer it goes it the worse it will get for Israel’s armed forces. And if the war in Gaza continues then Hezbollah continues their operations to make northern Israel essentially empty land which directly impacts the already collapsing Israeli economy.
Israel is not even doing the basic counter insurgency strategies. They simply do raids, take casualties, then withdraw. Rinse and repeat. I’ve yet to see Israel showing weapons caches taken, fighters killed etc. I remember the Syrian civil war and war against ISIS in Iraq. Syria and Iraq would show captured enemy weapons caches,dead or captured jihadist fighters. Only thing we have seen is mass arrest of males Palestinian civilians. Proven to not be Hamas.
And they gave up going into the tunnels to root out Hamas and the other factions. Many Israeli hostages have said that the IOF has no clue where the tunnels are. And even if they did know those tunnels are fortified and have booby traps in them. Israel would sustain heavier casulties. So they are stuck in a morass. Staying in Gaza will only weaken their military leading to a major collapse or crisis within the IOF. 700 dead and 10,000 wounded is a lot for a small nation like Israel with its reservist military. They can’t sustain this for another year. And now they keep talking about a war against Hezbollah. If Israel is stupid enough to go to war against Hezbollah their armed forces will be totally defeated and humiliated. It will lead to the end of Israel. Wars of liberations are very bloody
Apparently, Golan Vach - the IOF colonel who spread the fake news of beheaded babies - has been ambushed and killed by Hamas in a booby-trapped tunnel.

This is why many in the Israeli military want an end to the war. It’s becoming a festering ulcer. Burning up manpower and equipment. Everyday an Israeli soldier killed here or wounded here. And it adds up. Add the losses in the West Bank and the north from Hezbollah it becomes a heavy price. Israeli leadership in the past would have ended this war 8-9 months ago.
Given the poor response from the world, especially Islamic countries, Israel might not get another chance to level the temple mount, on which stands the 3rd most holiest site of Islam (al-Aqsa mosque). Recently, a Jewish extremist group associated with the rebuilding of the 3rd (Jewish) Temple released an AI video of al-Aqsa's destruction, captioned "soon...".
